Blogging for a Cause - Thank you!

We had a record 30 blogs posted on International Women's Day, 8th March.  Thank you to everyone who participated either through blogging, commenting, reading or promoting the blogs.   A big congratulations to Janine Ripper for coordinating the project and ensuring it's success.  Janine and the blogging team are hard at work creating an ebook of all the contributions AND they have also posted the next Blogging for a Cause, to celebrate National Volunteer Week from May 9 - 15. Check out more details here.

Would you like to join Janine on the Emergen Blogging Team?  Help coordinate blogging events, create ebooks, organise face to face writing sessions and organise blogging development activities? Please contact me or Janine for more details - we are looking to build a national team.

March Challenge - Do you need to update your Resume?

Our Challenges Coordinator, Ally Millington has launched Emergen's first monthly member challenge!

Your Challenge This Month:  As we all need to update our resume from time to time, the challenge for you this month is to update your resume and post/comment on the best change or improvement you made – whether it was content related or style related.

Read it here on the Challenges page or write a blog post titled March Emergen Challenge - it doesn't have to be long - just a paragraph will do! Be in it to win it!
Prize: The best response will win a copy of the book “The CV Book –a definitive guide to writing the perfect CV” by James Innes.

New Queensland Mentor - Hayley Angell

I would like to introduce you to Hayley Angell, who will be coordinating the Emergen activities in Queensland.  Hayley is a super star!  She's an award-winning speaker and facilitator who has presented to thousands of students, graduates and young professionals nationwide.  She has been involved with the Brisbane Junior Chamber of Commerce and has served on the Boards of The Brightest Young Minds Foundation, Business Icon Queensland and the YWCA of Brisbane.

Hayley is wanting to connect with Queensland members and continue her discussions of what Emergen is going to look like across Queensland. You can connect with Hayley on the Emergen Sunshine State Group here.

Featured Members of the Month
Linda Le has been churning out her great interviews with Emergen members, including profiling me on International Women's Day!  Check out the two interviews below....
"I cannot find anyone more fitting to feature on Emergen’s International Women’s Day blogging drive than its very own creator. Here we have a driven and inspirational woman who started to firmly imprint her footprints into the world at a very young age. Having started and been involved in a number of initiatives such as Millennium Kids; a development program for business and professional women; and this community, Emergen, she maintains her very humble stance and forgets to mention her State President role in the National Speakers Association Australia and the Young Women's Leadership Program that she created and coordinated for a group of amazing young women. Her commitment to serving others and her compassion for the world around us has inspired many and we will foresee the ripple effect that she has created in the years to come. It is an honor to introduce to you Alicia Curtis, this feature is not to be missed. " Check out the interview here.

"It's time to unravel another one of Emergen's many talented people. This time I'd like you to meet featured member Kristy Warrick. I fear that if I introduced you to Kristy in this section, it will undo the whole point of what she tried to do when we asked her to tell us about herself. However, please do read on to learn more about Kristy, she is involved in the SIFE program at Curtin University and is willing to share some valuable lessons that she has learnt with us. I look forward to hearing your feedback on Kristy!Read the piece here.

Events around the Country
Lots of members are involved in some great events coming up around the country, check them out below.
There is plenty of space for your event. Add your events here.

Take care and I'll see you on Emergen soon!

Alicia Curtis
